The season third of Star Trek series was premiered on 9-20-1968 and the opening episode of the season was ‘Spock’s Brain’. While Season 3 was overall the weakest, especially in terms of ratings, several of the individual episodes are among the finest that Star Trek has to offer. Season’s most contentious episode was “Plato’s Stepchildren” in which Kirk and Officer Uhura share the first interracial kiss. Season finale ‘Turnabout Intruder’ was aired on 6-3-1969.
Season’s Top Ranked Episode- ‘The Enterprise Incident’
Captain Kirk is behaving in very erratic manner and orders the Enterprise into Romulan space where the ship is captured by some beautiful Romulan commander. There is a deadly game between Kirk, Spock and the Romulans which risks not only the Enterprise but also the tenuous cease-fire between the Romulans and the Federation.
