Star Trek’s Season First’s opening episode ‘The Man Trap’ was aired on 9-8-1966. Actually, the debut episode of the season was not the first episode filmed. The real opening episode of the series was ‘The Cage’ which stars not William Shatner as James T. Kirk rather Jeffery Hunter as Captain Christopher. First season of the series contains several best and most loved episodes of the series. The supporting characters of the season 1 were Shatner, Nimoy, Deforest Kelley, James Doohan, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, and Majel Barrett. First season of the show represented the first series contributions of Richard Matheson, Theodore Sturgeon, Jerry Sohl, Robert Bloch and DC Fontana. Two guest appearances were also included in the season: Roger C. Carmel and Ricardo Montalban who played the evil Khan who attempts to take over the enterprise in ‘Space Speed’. Season gained a great popularity and because of the popularity of the season, two other seasons are also introduced by the creators.
